Throughout each semester of Business class you’ll develop lifelong skills that will help you in school and your professional life. You will develop skills such as Google Slides, Public Speaking, Communication, and other soft skills. You’ll gain a deeper insight on how to develop and market a new business, while competing Shark Tank style for a $500 grant to start your own business. You will participate in CareerConnect Career Coach program, develop/execute school events and a community service project, personal finance curriculum, leadership, compete in FBLA, and create a portfolio that includes a resume. Throughout each semester you will reflect how your personal identity will impact your career and personal goals.
Specific Success Criteria
Students should be willing to work in groups and develop their public speaking skills.
Students should be interested in starting their own businesses, and or creating a business plan.
Students should be willing to engage in one on one conversations with people outside of their course.
Students will develop marketing skills, professionalism skills, entrepreneurship skills and job site/interviewing skills.
Students will be required to attempt the ESB- Entrepreneurship certification prior to leaving the program.
